Once a suitable production PDF file is available, it is often advantageous to create a fully imposed sheet. pdfToolbox integrates a complete imposition engine for commercial print, label, and large-format printing.
dfToolbox scales, fits, moves, extends, rotates, and flips pages and page content with ease. But it goes much further than that. The imposition engine in pdfToolbox is extremly powerful and can be used to impose incoming PDF files onto larger print sheets as required by the device. It is suitable for a large range of different real imposition tasks such as step-and-repeat, folded jobs using signatures, tiling, and cut-and-stack, as well as more specialized tasks.
pdfToolbox offers different imposition types. The JavaScript-based imposition is the modern method for creating imposition configurations. It allows the use of variables and external data, making the technology extremely flexible and highly optimized for performance. Even large or complex PDF files can be imposed quickly and efficiently. And because the configurations can be created using JavaScript, the only limits are those of your imagination (well, technically, your scripting!).
Next to JavaScript-based imposition, pdfToolbox provides two other modes. For quick and straightforward tasks, it offers simple imposition features that require no configuration files. These include step-and-repeat, fill page, and booklet imposition, which can be executed directly through easy-to-use Actions. In addition, pdfToolbox still supports its legacy “old-style” imposition configurations, which use its own tabbed-text configuration language.
