Another year has flown by, and as is our tradition at callas, we’re kicking off the new year with a look back at 2024 and a sneak peek at all the exciting things coming up in 2025. Let’s start with 2024.

pdfToolbox 15

Our developers have been hard at work over the past year, addressing over 800 bug fixes and feature requests tickets. The result? pdfToolbox 15 – a new version packed with innovative features and enhancements.

We celebrated the launch with an online event, split into four sessions, that showcased all the new features. If you missed it, don’t worry – the recordings are available on the callas YouTube channel.

Here are some feature highlights you won’t want to miss:

• Simplified profile editor for easier creation and understanding of preflight profiles.
• Extended object inspector to derive a new preflight check based on object properties.
• Die line enhancements, including reading CF2 files, splitting or joining die lines, and placing text along existing paths.
• Improved test mode, with a loupe tool, enhanced visualization options, and the ability to inspect objects identified by a check in an isolated view.
• Customizable Ask-at-Runtime dialog, allowing you to reorder variables and to dynamically hide or show variables under certain conditions.

Meeting customers and partners

In May, we presented pdfToolbox 15 at drupa. Our team had a blast giving live demonstrations, showcasing the powerful capabilities of callas products, and meeting with customers, partners and industry experts.

We also held two pdfCamps in Berlin last year, one in the spring and one in the fall. Both events were fully booked with a total of 56 participants from all over the world. For two days we solved real-world problems, discussed PDF related topics and received invaluable feedback to improve the callas products. All in all it was a fantastic experience and it’s always a pleasure to meet integrators, developers and pdfToolbox enthusiasts in person.

A packed year of learning

Education continued to be a top priority in 2024. Webinars are always a great way to share our knowledge with our community – no matter where participants are located, they can join from anywhere. That’s why we hosted 10 webinars, attracting a total of 769 registrations and covering a wide range of topics:

• A new industry-specific webinar on pdfToolbox for label printing (in English and German)
• Our pdfToolbox 15 launch event, offering four sessions on the latest features and enhancements.
• A series of three webinars on PDF standards and preflighting – delving into the theory and practice.

Spotlight on our white paper

In December, we published our first white paper “How Standardization Drives Profitability in Print”. So if you couldn’t enjoy a white Christmas, at least you can enjoy a white paper!
